Gastric Banding Surgery Changes People's Lives
As
with all weight-loss surgery, lap band surgery is a change in
someone's life. That's why The Bariatric Group, a Monterey,
Mexico-based medical group, practices a multi-disciplinary approach
to its lapband surgery. This approach starts with a patient analysis
by our full-time Bariatric Surgery Team, which will use their
training, skills and experience when they perform your lap band
surgery and change your life.
Dr. Arturo Rodriguez, a
graduate of the University of Monterrey, heads this team. He became
chief of surgery at the Navy Medical Center and now shares his
experience in Lap Band and Realize Band surgery with medical surgeons. Patients receive personal consultations with the
doctor to identify which of the two different kinds of bands should
be used for their particular case. Following the gastric banding
surgery, Dr. Rodriguez and his team continue their counseling to
help patients maintain a permanent sustained weight loss. The team teaches patients how to adjust their lifestyles.
Patients need to change their diet and eating habits first. Then
they need to learn how to properly get back into physical activity
and begin a proper exercise routine. Finally, the Bariatric Team
stays with the patient for long-term care and suggests support
groups with fellow lap band surgery
patients. |
